[Friends of Internationals]

Hello! 

Welcome students and friends! To the new students, Friends of Internationals
hopes to be at your service especially for the first two months of your
stay. For the returning students, welcome back!  

I am sending this e mail for and behalf Friends of Internationals and for
the new leadership of the organization. As you have been informed Roland,
the former Director, has moved to North Carolina to pursue his studies. Our
new leaders are spouses Bob and Colleen.   They have been serving/working
for international students for several years in New York. We are blessed to
have them in USF. 
 

Here are some of the events and activities with Friends of Internationals

Super Wal-Mart Shopping Trip

 

            This coming Friday, August 31st, FI will take a
Grocery/Household Item shopping trip to the Super Wal-Mart in New Tampa. We
plan to leave the BCM/FI building click here
<http://www.internationals.org/tampamap.php>  (for directions) at 3 p.m. and
return when the shopping is done. This is specifically a time for those who
have no vehicle and/or just need a ride to the store.. If meeting at the
building on campus is not convenient, we are also able to have pickups
scheduled at 3:10 p.m. The following places are schedule stops: Campus Walk
bus stop on 42nd St. , Willow Brook bus stop on 42nd St. , or Administration
bus stop (main bus stop - wait under covered stop). If you'd like to be
picked up at any of these spots respond to this email indicating which stop.
If you'd like to go, reply with an email by 10 A.M. ON FRIDAY, August 31st.
Then be at your stop at 3:10 p.m. 

 

Welcome party

September 1, 6:30 P.M.   There will be free food, T-shirts and other
surprises. If you need a ride in coming to the party, we are also able to
have pickups scheduled at 6:25 p.m. The following places are schedule stops:
Campus Walk bus stop on 42nd St. , Willow Brook bus stop on 42nd St. , or
Administration bus stop (main bus stop - wait under covered stop). If you'd
like to be picked up at any of these spots respond to this email not later
than 10:00 AM on August 31st   , indicate which stop, and be on your stop at
6:25 P.M. 
 
 
Trip to NASA Kennedy Space Center in Orlando 
 
Monday, September 3. Costs $45.00 includes entrance fee, transportation, and
parking.  This is a discounted rate. The regular entrance rate is $38.00
excluding parking and transportation expense.  Also bring $ for food. Sign
up and pay on or before August 29 at 2:00pm at BCM/FI building (click this
link http://www.internationals.org/tampamap.php for direction).

International Picnic at River Hills
 
 Saturday, September 8, 10:00-3:00pm at River Hills Park E 56th St. on River
Hills Drive next to the River Hills Elementary School, Temple Terrace.
 

 

Conversational English and French Classes

 

            Friends of Internationals offers English and French
conversational courses open to all students, scholars, and their families.
These classes are FREE of charge and there is no need to pre-register - just
show up ready to learn! The start of classes will be announced soon.   

 

Furniture Available: 

One couch with sleep in bed - just come to BCM and pick this up. You need a
truck to transport this.  This is on a first- come first- served basis.

 Short term lease this fall semester for a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom apartment
