[Genealib] Content DM

Also be aware that if your library subscribes to OCLC's FirstSearch base package, you may be able to take advantage of OCLC's "free" version of CONTENTdm that they're bundling with subscriptions. See http://www.oclc.org/news/announcements/announcement359.htm

Obviously, OCLC is hoping that institutions will try CONTENTdm and then decide to upgrade to allow more collections, but it's an intriguing offer nonetheless.

Beth
We used it in our library several years ago and still use it.
Contact me off list and I will tell you what I know about it.

Does anyone out there have Contentdm in-house? How does it work for you and is it easy to maintain?
We used Contentdm through the Indiana State Library for a project last year. I've been given a sum of money from an estate to digitize some items. The sum isn't enough to buy us a new microfilm scanner, which I'd hoped, and I was wondering about purchasing Contentdm. There are several digi projects that I could do with it and I doubt if I could convince the ISL to authorize the project I need to do.
I'd love to hear from anyone.
