An act for forming Cumberland County, Kentucky (from a portion of Green County) was approved on December 14, 1798.  It was effective on July 1, 1799.

This information is from the Kentucky Counties Formation database on the Kentucky Land Office site through the Office of the Kentucky Secretary of State.
