Thanks for the info everyone!
I will forward all of your suggestions to my fellow volunteers and then we can see if any of them fit our needs.

Subject: [Genealib] Library Software
Hi everyone!
I hoping someone may have a suggestion for me.
I volunteer at a Model Railroad museum which has a small research collection of about 2000 items that needs to be cataloged and organized on something other than notebook paper. Is anybody familiar with, or know of, a low cost cataloging/ circulation program that we could purchase? We mostly need something that will keep track of the basics (Title, Author, etc.), allow us to search the collection to make it more usable, and also keep track of checkouts (to members only).
I manage the local History Department in my local library as my "regular" job. We use Millennium from Innovative Interfaces. This program is excellent; however it is a multifaceted program that is far more complex than is needed in the museum. Something more cost effective would be appropriate.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
