Jonathan,
I use software from Collectorz to manage my husband's comic book collection.
They also have software that allows you to catalog and manage a book
collection. It can be found at http://www.collectorz.com/book/. The software
has a loan manager which allows you to see who has the books. I haven't used
the book software but have really liked the comic book software. There is a
free trail if you wanted to check it out.
Good luck,

Subject: [Genealib] Library Software
Hi everyone!
I hoping someone may have a suggestion for me.
I volunteer at a Model Railroad museum which has a small research collection
of about 2000 items that needs to be cataloged and organized on something
other than notebook paper. Is anybody familiar with, or know of, a low cost
cataloging/ circulation program that we could purchase? We mostly need
something that will keep track of the basics (Title, Author, etc.), allow us
to search the collection to make it more usable, and also keep track of
checkouts (to members only).
I manage the local History Department in my local library as my "regular"
job. We use Millennium from Innovative Interfaces. This program is
excellent; however it is a multifaceted program that is far more complex
than is needed in the museum. Something more cost effective would be
appropriate.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
