    Hi Everyone

I am sending this email out to all my contacts asking a huge favor. On July 1 of this year (next week!) Ohio Gov Strickland and legislature will decide on a current bill that will cut Ohio Library funding by an additional 50% on top of many many cuts made previously.
If this happens next week our library system will be loosing 5 of its 7 branches that will be CLOSED. This will leave Main Library and Schiappa opened with shorter hours. This will mean at least 35 job losses across our system, maybe more.
Here is how you can help:

Send a fax to Gov Ted Strickland in Columbus Ohio. I understand his phone and email is shut down because of the volume but so far his fax is still operating:
614-466-9354

All you need to state is how terrible this would be if Ohio's libraries get shut down because of the budget cuts. Not only will there be more unemployment in the state of Ohio but also many unemployed people come to Ohio libraries using the internet for hopes of finding a job somewhere. This list goes on.

Also contact our State Rep John Domenic phone 614-466-3735; fax at 614-719-6995 or email John at:
district95 at ohr.state.oh.us

Also contact Sen Jason Wilson:
email: senatorwilson at maild.sen.state.oh.us

We only have one week to get this done so anything you can do to help keep Ohio Libraries open will be truly Wonderful. We all know the need is here especially with so many people out of work and school libraries not being as efficient as public libraries. The future for Ohio is based in our Libraries.
WE DON'T WANT OHIO TO BE KNOWN AS THE STATE THAT KILLED LIBRARIES!!!

Please help us in Ohio.
Sandy Day
Schiappa Library

PLEASE FORWARD TO EVERYONE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. THIS IS URGENT.

THANK YOU!!
SANDY
