The problem with switching back is that once you have opened a file with
the new version of Family Tree Maker, it will no longer open with the
earlier editions. One work-around to consider is exporting the file as a GEDCOM
file (.ged) from the new FTM and then import it into your old version of
FTM. To remove the new version of FTM from your computer, go to Start >
Setting >Control Panel > Remove Programs OR Programs and Features. These steps
or folder names may vary from computer to computer.
Feel free to contact me off list if you would like my opinion of FTM and
other genealogy software I have used. Good luck. I agree with Suzanne,
many libraries use genealogy software as a service to its patrons, so some
software questions seem appropriate for this forum.

*Question for you all...librarians or individuals...
How do you like the latest version of Family Tree Maker? I had an older
version and switched to the very latest and I absolutely hate it and want
to
put the disk out on my drive and run over it!!!
Is there a way to switch back to your older version--say version 10?
Waiting to hear from you.

In light of Drew's response to the question on FTM, I would point out
that our library purchased FTM to keep a record of the prominent
families in our county. These are the ones we receive multiple inquiries
on from year to year. It is a huge help to go the files on these
families that staff has put together. We purchased the software and
don't always upgrade each upgrade, so I appreciated having a user's
perspective in case we want to purchase that version.
