Well, it's not really a librarian question, and there are far better
lists than GENEALIB on which to ask it (for instance, on a Family Tree
Maker list). Unless this question can be made relevant to
genealogical librarianship, it's off-topic for the GENEALIB list.

Even so, if you still have an older version installed, you should be
able to go back to using it. So far as I am aware, the 2008 or 2009
versions don't require you to un-install pre-2008 versions. The older
version won't be able to read the files from the newer 2008/2009
versions, so if you have made changes to your files since you
switched, the only way to get that data back into an older version
would be to export a GEDCOM-format file and then import that file into
the older version.
