  By searching the Library of Congress catalog with the call number, these entries appear for the following, which means Encyclopedic Dictionary [I took Russian in college back in the dark ages]. There are 1861 and 1933 editions, but the record indicates that there are only 53 volumes. Perhaps the ones you have are from a later edition.

  Folks:
   a friend recently bought at a goodwill store three volumes in russian that were in a military library before being discarded  we are trying to figure out what they are  they call numbers are:
  RES  for reserve I believe
  AE
  55
  E66
  he has vol 41 etc.. 
  there is at elast 55 volumes in the set as he has #55.

  any suggestions would be appreciated
