[Genealib] American research

Pat, I sent you an email directly. I will help you and see what I can find. Manifest of Passengers, you mentioned, indicates Alfred's destination was San Francisco, but he did not have a paid ticket. I did not see him in the death or marriage records in California. He had $1150 cash in his possession and doesn't indicate he is joining a family member or friend when asked. So it is possible he went to the Rockies instead. I'll send you a copy of the image of the two page form and the detailed transcription for your patron in case he doesn't have it. I provided my personal contact via private email. I look forward to working with you. I have a few other items for review to determine if it is your Alfred Foxford.

Thanks very much James. I'm ashamed to admit that I wasn't really sure
what the Rockies would consist of in terms of place.

Pat

As the Denver Public Library is located in the heart of the backbone of the
Rockies I will look through our resources and offer a few suggestions.

Hi there,

Our library is situated just north of Brisbane in Queensland Australia. We
don't get much call for American research and as a result my expertise in
this area is limited.

We have a client who is looking for an Alfred Henry FOXFORD, born 1880 in
Queensland Australia. Alfred left for America about 1912. I have his entry
from Canada into the USA in 1912 but can find nothing after that. Family legend
has it that he wrote to his mother from 'the Rockies' and then she never
heard from him again and assumed he was dead. Alfred's mother died in 1923.
Any clues as to where I could possibly find a death for Alfred?

I have checked through census records and have found a FOXFORD family but they
appear to have originated in Scandanavia. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Pat Gee
