We have an institutional subscription and love it, because our patrons
that have used it love it!   We find it affordable which many of
these are not on our limited budget. One thing that makes it worthwhile
for us, is that our patrons can search it from home with the basic
registration and get the preview images to see if it is really what they
want, then come into the Heritage Room and download the images using our
subscription.

One of the series we are particularly happy to
see being digitized is the Southern Claims Commission records.  These
have really great information and the St. Louis County Library has a
really good guide online as to how to use them.   These can be
really helpful for African American researchers.  SLCL also has the
descriptive pamphlet online at their web site. To learn more about these
go to http://www.slcl.org/branches/hq/sc/jkh/sc_jkh_fd.htm
Ruth Ann
Hager has spent much time working in the Southern Claims Commission
records and made it easier for us to use.

I am willing to wait
for the high quality images, but it does require patience.   I
also have enjoyed working with our representative, very accessible when we
have had problems with the state server.
