Rhonda,

The Collingwood Public Library is in the process of digitizing our Index cards to births, marriages and deaths and are about to go live (within the next two weeks, we hope) with what we have done (in excess of 17,000 entries - only 52,000 more to go!) I would be happy to go over the pros and cons of our program with you, if you would like to email me back at cstuart at collingwoodpubliclibrary.ca. We have found a way to overcome the cons, which should provide an excellent resource. Since January 2008 we have also been scanning the obituaries from the local newspaper, so that the viewer will be able access the actual obituary.

We are also working on a new local history\genealogy page, as what we have there is embarrassing inadequate.

Coordinator, Local History\Genealogy Dept.

    Rhonda
I don't have a reading of that cemetery. Listed below is twp trustees for Warren Twp but I don't think they will be of much help:

Warren Twp fiscal officer (clerk) Robert Fetty Jr
316 Mound St Tiltonsville OH 43963
        740-859-5218
    or
Warren twp trustee Dan Meeker P O Box 215 Rayland OH 43943
        740-859-4145

Your best bet may be in obtaining obituaries and I can help with that.
    Have you accessed:
    http://labs.familysearch.org/

This site is owned by the Latter Day Saints (Mormons). All you need to do is click on Record search then select US as a region and you will be sent to a link that gives many links in alpha order. Scroll down till you find Ohio Deaths 1908-1953. You will find actual images of Ohio death certifs for this time frame. Mildred was only 2 years old I found and it only stated she was buried in Yorkville does not give cemetery name. She may not have had a grave stone?
I could not find Josephine on this site. If you can provide her exact date of death I can search for an obit on her.
We charge $10 for up to 5 obits so you may want to add as many as you want on your list. Let me know if you want this done and I will send instructions.

The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library is considering digitizing its Local History File. The file is essentially a newspaper index covering local people, places, things, and history. It includes about 300,000 citations on 100,000 index cards and will continue to grow. The Library is considering scanning the cards and/or entering the file citations into a searchable database. Any advice that you could give related to the following topics would be appreciated:
a.. Is there a digitization consultant that you would recommend?
b.. Would anyone who has worked on a similar project be willing to talk to our staff about your experience?
c.. What software would you recommend for this type of project?
d.. Any other advice/words of wisdom
      Thank you for any assistance!

      Sincerely,
