Ancestry.com has a U.S. City Directories module that is not available on
Ancestry Library Edition. (One of a growing number of databases that
the Library version lacks.) It includes Augusta, Georgia, 1882-1901,
1937-1946 (with a few missing years). You can see a list of available
years at www.ancestry.com even if you are not a subscriber.

Subject: [Genealib] Ancestry Question

We have Ancestry Library Edition in our library. A patron in another
state just told me that Ancestry has the city directories for Augusta,
Georgia, online. I've tried to find them without any success but that
certainly doesn't mean that they aren't there! Is it possible that it
is only in the paid edition? Has anyone else found the city directories
for Augusta in Ancestry? It would be so helpful to be able to offer this
tool to our patrons. Right now they must look at the city directories on
microfilm and our microfilm readers leave much to be desired. Thanks in
advance.

Sincerely,

Dottie Demarest
