We treat letters and email questions as reference questions. They are
not kept in a publicly accessible file. We often have folks who
volunteer to put their research in our 'surname' files and if so we
leave all the information they have included intact.

Subject: [Genealib] addresses on information requests
I am curious what others do with the genealogy request letters they
receive, especially pertaining to the mailing address.
Do you include the letters in existing family files? If so what do you
do about the address, do you mark it out or do you put the letter in the
family file with the address still visible?
Does anyone have a statement about this subject in their request form or
responce letter?
Thank you
