[Genealib] addresses on information requests

Because of the statement below, all of our records are public. So, let
the sender beware. <g>

 

On the other hand, out of courtesy, we ask them up front if it is ok to
include their email in our files, especially if they are a descendant
and a good contact for future researchers.

 

We rarely get letters any more, but if we did, again the same courtesy
is extended.

 

As for older records (pre Internet), we have not felt the need to
remove, but will protect their privacy on a case by case basis.

I am curious what others do with the genealogy request letters they
receive, especially pertaining to the mailing address. 

 

Do you include the letters in existing family files? If so what do you
do about the address, do you mark it out or do you put the letter in the
family file with the address still visible?

 

Does anyone have a statement about this subject in their request form or
responce letter?
