[Genealib] addresses on information requests

I have no idea what a professional librarian would do with their specific vertical files. (my only claim is as a
previous church librarian years ago; no degree)
From a researcher's standpoint I'd like it filed the way it came in.... address and all.
The person asking for information wants someone to contact them ... if the name and address has been
blacked out, then how ???
Those doing genealogical research are normally not too worried about an address -
Years later when the address is no longer any good, it can still be that all-important clue to a locality where
family was located at a particular time.
I may have misunderstood your question. ...

Subject: [Genealib] addresses on information requests

I am curious what others do with the genealogy request letters they receive, especially pertaining to the mailing address.

Do you include the letters in existing family files? If so what do you do about the address, do you mark it out or do you put the letter in the family file with the address still visible?

Does anyone have a statement about this subject in their request form or responce letter?

  Thank you
