[Genealib] West Virginia Archives and History Library holiday closings and an apology

FYI, for those of you with patrons interested in coming to the West
Virginia Archives and History Library in Charleston, WV:  
We have changed our 2008 holiday schedule this year and will be closing
on General Election Day, November 4, and the Friday and Saturday after
Thanksgiving, as well as the holiday itself, meaning we will be closed
November 27-29.  (Actually, the Friday after Thanksgiving is an official
WV state government holiday now.)  For now, we continue to be open
Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m, Friday and Saturday from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Sundays. The Archives and History Library
continues to open on selected holidays, will be open regular hours on
Columbus Day, October 13, and Veterans Day, November 11; however, all
other offices will be closed.  
 
We apologize for the disruption of service on our extremely popular West
Virginia Vital Research Records site.  We have been having major
problems with the server for our database, resulting in partial and then
complete loss of the linked document images.  The search function was
working, and would bring up results, but the images were gone.  90 to
95% of the images should be back up.  We are asking anyone who finds a
broken link to please e-mail us (the WVVRR e-mail address is at the
bottom of every page) with the search terms used for the image so we can
find it and correct the situation.  We have been posting messages on the
mail WVVRR page, but many people have the death records search page
bookmarked, and haven't seen the messages.  We are working as quickly as
we can to solve the problem, and to prevent a reoccurence.
