I've always found it works best when they have their own computer, or can at
least double up on one. It is good for those "hands-on" learners, and they
don't tend to drift off as much.

I have done classes both ways. With one big screen and also with each
student having their own computers. During the big screen class, I showed
the class different websites and then they each had a computer as well and
searched for their own families during the last half hour of the class.
