[Genealib] Question

I'm usually fairly good with land instruments, but I have been stumped
by one. In a county deed index the instrument is called a "B. for
Title" and in other places "B. for T." Can someone educate me on this
before I lose my mind? We have an educated guess, but I am hoping for
something more definitive. I just called the local County Clerk's
office, and they could not help. It is being used in conjunction with
the sale of town lots by the Commissioners and Trustees of a town in
Texas in 1846.
Thanks,
