[Genealib] Re: ALA's "Guidelines for Developing Beginning Genealogical Collection"

It brought a smile to my face to see this being discussed. Back in 2005 ALA
editions asked me to write an introductory book on just this subject. The
back story is that I had done chapters on operating systems et al for other
author's books, and had written for Genealogical Computing and Heritage
Quest for almost 20 years.

I worked on it for 2 years, and went through 5 editors - they kept leaving
for better jobs, as they wrote. Then they cancelled it. All's I can say is
that it was a real learning experience.
