The Windsor Public Library in Windsor, Ontario, Canada charges $1.00 for an obituary provided that the date of death (or date of newspaper publication) is known. Our minimum fee is $5.00. In many cases, there was a death notice and an obituary notice published.

We can usually handle up to 3 requests (within a window of 15 minutes).

If more than 3 death notices are requested, then we also charge for research time ($15.00 for 15 minutes of research).

If the date of death is not known, and not found in our Obituary database, then research fees are applied.

Our Obit. database covers the years from 1945 to the present. We are still entering data previous to 1945.

I am curious as to what other libraries charge for
copying obituaries. I am interested in the fees for
requests by mail and email that you would receive at
  your library.
