[Genealib] dedicated room

Phyllis,

My library's genealogy room has a mix of large tables that seat 4 people
and individual carrels. All of these have built in electrical outlets
for laptops, etc, so that we don't have safety hazards of cords strung
across to the wall. The tables and carrels have a 'master cord' that
plugs into floor outlets.

I like having a bulletin board on the wall to post information about
programs and events, and some kind of flat space to display new books.

Thanks.

Subject: [Genealib] dedicated room

Hello.

I am interested in hearing from any public library who has a room
dedicated to genealogy/local history. I have a couple of questions about
the room itself - not the collection.

1) What do you feel is the best physical feature of the room? An
arrangement of tables to shelves? equipment? a specific piece of
furniture?

2) What would you change about your existing room?

Thank you.
