1.) We have nice large tables for folks who need to spread out their work,
and tables near outlets for people with laptops, scanners, etc. I also like
our vertical file drawers and my spacious office. :)
2.) More staff workspace and archival collection storage space. The room
was not built with these things in mind. And, we have no truly
climate-controlled areas.

Hello.
I am interested in hearing from any public library who has a room dedicated
to genealogy/local history. I have a couple of questions about the room
itself - not the collection.
1) What do you feel is the best physical feature of the room? An arrangement
of tables to shelves? equipment? a specific piece of furniture?
2) What would you change about your existing room?
