I am posting to this list to see if anyone would be interested in having
the book Pioneer Naturalist on the Plains:the Diary of Elam Bartholomew
1871-1934

c1998 by David M. Bartholomew for their collection.

It is an autobiography of Elam Bartholomew. Their lineage includes some
of the following places

Rooks County, Kansas

Fulton County, Illinois

Licking County, Ohio

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

A 5,600 page Diary condensed, abstracted with full genealogical value
with historic time period and full documentation.

The author, who is now 80, lives in the NW Suburbs of Chicago. He came
to our Algonquin Friends of the Library group to "sell" his book to the
public (proceeds to the Friends) and find homes for his books. He is
not trying to recoup dollars, only that the publisher does not have room
to keep the copies and he would like to find persons or places that
would find it useful.

I do not think it will be a "best seller" at the book sale, so I
mentioned to him about this list and would appreciate any other feed
back how to get these copies into the right hands! I could post to
Rootsweb message boards.

Though the book is catalogued at our library in 580, due to the subject
of his profession, it is an excellent family history in a chronological
format.

There are 57 copies listed in OCLC, but there may be other libraries,
genealogical and historical societies that may like to have this book in
their collection for researchers.

It is completely indexed and has several chapters devoted to family
history, births, deaths, beautiful photographs etc.

I have access to multiple copies and could send for postage. Please
respond off list vfreyre at aapld.org if you would like a copy

Thanks for your help!
