We are reviewing policies in our Genealogy Department and have a few
questions regarding policies concerning donations. If you would let me know
your policy on some (or all) of these questions it would be greatly
appreciated.
1.When the genealogy department accepts a family genealogy or other material
(letters, diaries, etc.) from a donor, do you ask the donor to sign a form
or waiver permitting copying of materials?
2.Do you copy entire genealogies for people if they are not copyrighted?
3.Do you have any materials in the collection you don’t copy for people –
such as letters or diaries?
4.Do you have church records (baptisms, marriages, deaths)? If so, do you
copy them for patrons?

With regard to the following questions, I am mostly concerned with people
writing for information and asking that copies be mailed to them. I am not
as concerned with patrons copying materials on their own.

Thanks very much for your help.
