[Genealib] I started my genealogy 43 years ago

Tom,
I was frequently asked as a youth whether I was related to Jack Kerouac (the Beat author).  There was also a story about a Count D'Avignon in our family - a French Canadian cousin who claimed this improbable title.  The attempt to solve both these puzzles led me into some 30-odd years of genealogical research.

p.s. I did find the answers to the above questions - but am still working on the multitude of questions raised by further family research, as is usually the case!

I started working on my genealogy 43 years ago.
I wrote about what got me started at:

What got you started?

Tom
