I currently have four classes that I teach in our Computer Training Center.
The first class is 'Genealogy Online' which is taught once a month except
December. Individual classes are offered on learning how to use our three
subscription databases - Ancestry Library Edition, Heritage Quest Online and
New England Ancestors (NEGHS). These are offered on a quarterly basis
rotation. (i.e. Ancestry this month, New England Ancestors next month and
Heritage Quest the third month). Average attendance is 4-5 students with an
average age of 60's. Basic computer skills and genealogy experience are
required. Currently, the classes are marketed by distribution through my
genealogy newsletter (email) and flyers posted in library locations
throughout our county system. I am a long-time staff member.

Subject: [Genealib] Genealogy How To Classes for Library Customers
If any of you are offering classes on using Heritage Quest Online, Ancestry
Library Edition, Digital Sanborn Maps and other genealogy/history related
online databases would you please tell me how often classes are scheduled,
if they are offered at locations other than where you Local History Room is
located and the average attendance for these classes. Also please indicate
if your customers have basic computer skills, and the average age of class
attendees.
Please tell me how these classes are marketed and if the presenter is
usually staff or volunteer. Thanks!
