[Genealib] Honoraria and typical expenses for speakers

I am putting together a proposal for a half or whole day genealogy mini-conference next year at my institution.

In trying to put a budget together, I'd like to know what the *typical* speaking fees/honoraria are for a 50-75 minute talk for genealogists, historians, and genealogy librarians, and also what allowances are typical made for meals, lodging, etc.  We will not be able to fly anyone in, but plan to reimburse mileage per IRS rules.

At what driving distance is overnight lodging (either the night before, or the night after) typically offered?

Also, while I know a  number of nationally and regionally recognized genealogy speakers in the Midwest, if anyone on the list from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, or Kentucky would like to make me aware of your services as a speaker (or would like to suggest potential speakers), and preferred topics or areas of expertise, I would appreciate hearing from you off list.

Other related suggestions on pitfalls to avoid, etc., would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
