When I googled it, cholering came up in a church list from 1708 about
expenses. "For leather and cholering ye bells"
Maybe that will help jog a memory for someone.
Sincerely,

Subject: [Genealib] Definition of word
While working on some old Justice of the Peace court records, we
recently came across a person who was fined $1.00 for "Cholering".
Does anyone know the definition of Cholering? The handwriting is very
legible, so we're pretty confident of the spelling of the word. We just
have never encountered it before, nor know what it means.
