An Evening with Louis Massiah, Wednesday the 3rd, 7:30pm. Renowned
independent filmmaker, activist and MacArthur Fellow, Mr. Massiah will
present videos from the Precious Places Project, a documentary oral history
program bringing together a Philadelphia neighborhood.  www.scribe.org

Shared History, Friday the 5th, 7:00-9:00pm.  This hour long documentary
film is a “portrait of an unbroken connection of black and white families
forged in slavery and three descendants who try to come to terms with the
reality of these ties.”  Followed by discussion.  www.sharedhistory.org

African American Family History Workshops, Saturday the 6th, 8:30am-4:00pm.
Presenters: Leslie Morales, Librarian and Editor, Alexandria Public
Library; Wilton Kitt, Genealogist; Char McCargo Bah, Author, Genealogist
and Contributor to History Detectives on PBS.  Sessions explore 19th
century records of Virginia slave births, a guide to becoming a savvy
researcher, and mining the gold in WPA slave interviews.  Lunch is on your
own.  This event is free. Everyone is welcome.  Registration is required
