Requiring users to register (for free) helps avoid the spam posts. But,
you do need to have someone look at all changed pages anyway just to be
sure. Wikis are great in providing lists of changed pages to make this
much easier.
Sounds like a great idea.
I'd include a page that links to other places that provide free
search/research advice.
