We treat them generally as manuscript collections and have a MARC
record.

Subject: [Genealib] Donated family files

I am trying to get a handle on how other institutions, especially public
libraries, treat donated family files. Do you file it in a cabinet? Do
you treat it as a manuscript collection and process it as such? Do you
create a MARC record for it?
thanks
John Lyles
