Read the above as well. I remember well, a number of years ago when the
'short form' began nationally known genealogist, now deceased, Richard
Lackey of MS, told what he did ---- and I've done it since. Anything not on
there that I want my descendants to know, I write it around the edges of the
form.
Example, as a married adult I want my parents known so I simply place their
names, year and place of birth. That gives a research point. I also put the
date and place of my marriage; a couple of other things, like the name &
birth year of our only child, who, of course, does not live with us but with
her own family. The Feds microfilm the whole form ----- so it will be seen!
Unless the thing is put to use for what I want (genealogical research), then
it's no good to me ... and I just might put N/A in every blank --- (smile).
My husband does not fill out census forms in this household - I do.
