[Genealib] MINT software

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about MINT catalog
software, a product of MINISIS Inc.? Our institution, which includes
library, museum and special collections items, is strongly considering
it as a replacement for our DOS-based Datatrek software, which is about
15 years old.

MINT claims to integrate archival, museum and library applications.
Their brochure says it is "practical, easy to use," "a complete
cultural assets management tool, and that you can search "one interface
for archival materials, books, coins, cultural objects, manuscripts,
maps, oral histories, photographs, paintings serials and specimens. The
future of collections management is here and now." Though they claim
worldwide clients, Historic New Orleans Collection seems to be their
main US client so far, and their online database has not been fully set
up. Therefore I am naturally suspicious.

Answer offline if you wish. Thanks to all.
