The obituary indexes to the Denton Record Chronicle are on the Special Collections page under the File Folder heading. They are just PDF files that you should be able to open. Under our electronic resources is America's Genealogy Bank that also has obituary notices. For these, you do need a valid Denton Public Library card to access. I hope this clears things up.

Apparently you have to have a valid Denton Public Library card to access 
the information. I tried the obituary index and it came up invalid.
