me. For the 1890 Special Census of Union Veterans, the full-blown
"consumer version" gives you everything you get for regular federal
censuses--including images, but ALE only gives you the index citation
from Ronald Vern Jackson's old printed indexes (that may not have been
their source, but it matches the fields returned).

I have to retract that statement. I haven't figured out yet exactly
what I did which led me down a "no images" pathway, but it very clear
now that the images ARE available on ALE for the 1890 Special Census of
Union Veterans if you choose the "right" pathway.

   What's a day without a good mystery?
