Curt:
Since most of us won't be going to ALA, could you summarize the findings of
this meeting?
Thank you.

Subject: [Genealib] Genealogy & Local History Disc. Group at ALA
Midwinter
For those attending the ALA Mid-Winter Meeting in Seattle, please join
in the Genealogy and Local History Discussion Group meeting on Saturday
morning, January 20, 2007 in Room 210 of the Washington State Convention
& Trade Center. (Confirm the location in your printed conference
program.) Aspects of publishing in the genealogy and local history
fields will be the focus of the discussions. The following questions
are offered as discussion starters.
1. What are publishers in the fields of genealogy and local history
doing well that we would like to see continue? This could cover both
format (print, CD/DVD, online, etc.) and topics.
2. What would we like to see publishers do in the future?
3. What formats should be considered for specific types of materials?
What is best still published in print/book form? What is best provided
on a CD/DVD? Plug-'n'-play hard drive? Online subscription?
We hope to see you in Seattle!
