Dear Elmer,
I received Mr. Hydenwell's resolutions via email from a friend and forwarded it to the list to brighten everyone's day without checking on its origins (shame on me!). After receiving your inquiry, I did some sleuthing and found that it appeared in the e-zine Rootsweb Review (28 December 2005, Vol. 8, No. 52). This is the earliest version I found online, and there is no mention of it being reprinted from an earlier publication.
The Rootsweb Review archive page (http://rwr.rootsweb.com/) has this statement:
"Permission to reprint articles from RootsWeb Review is granted unless specifically stated otherwise, provided: (1) the reprint is used for non-commercial, educational purposes; and (2) the following notice appears at the end of the article: Previously published in RootsWeb Review, Vol. x, No. x, and the date. (Copyright 1998-2005, MyFamily.com Inc. and its subsidiaries.)"
If you decide to print this in your newsletter, you should use the title and text of the article as originally published, since the version I forwarded may not be an exact transcription. You can find the Rootsweb Review's version at: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/review/2005/1228.txt
Best regards,
