Friends:
Many year ago, at least prior to September 1991 there appeared an article in a genealogical publication by Nancy J. Cornell entitled "the Distributive Share" I have in my possession a couple fo the articel from a former student but not the name of the journal.. I have tried in vain to find Nancy Cornell and have gotten many dead ends Perhaps once of your readers here is familiar with that articel. it was regarding the estate of Jacob Strickland of Georgia and was an explanation in laypersons terms of how one understands probate records of the period.. We are i the process of preparing a genealogical seminar and want to include that fine article but first must find out the publication . Many Thanks for this needle in the Hackstack approach. Sts

Subject: [Genealib] Announcing the formation of the Andover Genealogy Society
The Andover Public Library, in Andover, Butler County, Kansas, is now forming the Andover Genealogy Society. We will be focusing on local history for Andover and Butler County.
When our new library opens, we will have a volunteer staffed genealogy room. Volunteers will provide seminars and classes for researchers of all levels. Members of the Randolph Loving Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are currently considering selecting the AGS as a special project. This would be an incredible resource! We are offering, to local historical societies and government entities, to house and/or survey available records.
We, of course, will be needing donations as well, such as books, periodicals, maps, photographs, compiled family histories, etc.
I am in the process of creating a comprehensive website for AGS. It will eventually house photographs, scanned documents, transcriptions, etc. You can keep up with the progress by visiting the site at the following address.

We are just beginning to organize, so please be patient.
If you are interested in volunteering or providing look-ups for AGS, please contact me at mickeycorey at sbcglobal.net.
