Your description is exactly the arrangement we have for the Genealogy Society collection of books and other materials. The materials are housed in a specific room in the Library along with the Archives maintained by the Historical Society. At the present time the Library allows me to place the items into the online catalog although I am not a paid employee of the Library. I am a retired school Librarian.

  Subject: [Genealib] non-library collections

I would like to know if anyone is aware of a collection that is not the property of a library but is catalogued and therefore accessible through the library's online catalog. This offsite collection would not circulate; the library oversees the handling, catalagoing and use of the collecion.
