> Here at Boone County, I use iomega HDD external hard drives to store my digital archive tiffs. Most external hard drives are reasonably priced considering the value of the digital archive materials.
There was an article last year about assembling your own 1-terabyte
server for about $500:

If you're not comfortable trusting your files to something you bought
in pieces :-) Iomega has a 1TB drive for $720 at buy.com:

Of course, if you don't need a rugged system for immediate
availability and you just want cheap hard drives to distribute in
various places for backup, the network attached storage section at
buy.com:
<http://www.buy.com/cat/network_storage/10995.html>
includes a 250GB drive for $118.50.
I'm still working off my supply of Kodak Ultima Gold CDs, but I see
they have now been superseded by Kodak Preservation Discs:

available in both CD and DVD. I was a little startled to see them
carried in a local grocery chain, of all places, but maybe the digital
camera craze has made them a consumer item.
