[Genealib] HeritageQuest Online remote use

Dear Genealib-ers:

Our library at a small non-profit museum has been offering remote access to
HQO to museum members for several years as a membership bonus. To our
dismay we've recently been informed by our ProQuest rep that we'll no longer
be able do this since 1) we are not a public library -- even though the
number of individuals who sign up for access through us is, I'm sure,
smaller than the number of patrons accessing it remotely at many libraries -
and 2) since they consider us to actually have been reselling the product by
offering it as a membership perq.

When I was originally searching for information on offering remote access I
seem to recall that I ran across other museum libraries that offered HQO
remotely, however, I've not kept that information. Does anyone out there
know of or if other museum libraries are offering remote access to HQO? If
so, perhaps you could contact me off-list (librarian at danishmuseum.org). We
hate to see this service being terminated, particularly since many of our
members don't have ready access at a public library.

Thanks!

Michele McNabb
