[Genealib] Book Bandit Robbing Libraries

Sadly, this is a pretty common practice. I've bought several books
in the last year from Internet sources where it turned out that the
book had been stolen from a library. I even bought a book from
England which arrived with the New England library card still intact
(no ex-lib markings etc.). It had been checked out in 2005. In that
case, it was a "reputable" book dealer who claimed to have bought it
in an estate sale. I returned the book to the library and reported
the case to AbeBooks but the library decided not to pursue the issue.

With most user-to-user internet transactions (like craigslist in this
case), the paper trail is even thinner.

("Robbery," by the way, is theft with the threat of violence. I was
relieved to find that the headline was wrong!).
