The following happened to me this morning while searching on Ancestry
LE, and I wondered if anyone else has had the same thing. It seems that
the problems that have cropped up in the last few weeks have expanded
beyond the digitized images.
Searched a name; as I was about to click on World War I draft card
entry, Internet Explorer vanished. Didn't minimize; vanished. Gone.
Opened IE again. Searched again, same name. clicked on Military in the
box to the left, then WWI draft cards. Scrolled through the first page
of entries, went to second page. Got error message; when I clicked on
"Don't send error report" IE closed.
Repeated this search again, verbatim. Same results.
Opened IE again. Another search, slightly different parameters-name,
country/state of birth, country/state of death. Vanished.
Once again, opened IE. Same search, same parameters. Clicked on
Birth, Marriage, Death in box on left. Drilled to Social Security Death
index. When I clicked on "view record" beside a name, got the error
message again. Clicked on "don't send report" IE closed.
Has anyone else experienced this?
We are still using Internet Explorer 6. Our desk top management software
for public computers is Pharos.
Thanks.
