We bought newspapers on microfilm from Heritage Microfilm several years
ago and found many problems with missing sections. I hope their quality
control has improved.

	Subject: [Genealib] Microfilming Services?

Does anyone have experience or opinions to share about
professional microfilming services? I know nothing about the process, as
I have only purchased sale-ready reels. (I remember reading on this list
that filming is not as prevalent as it once was, but I assume/hope
commercial services are still available.) Here, some county records have
not been microfilmed yet that many people think should be, and a group
has expressed interest in donating funds to preserve local historical
documents. In fact, more than one group has expressed interest in such a
project, and I am hoping to gather information to see what is feasible
for us. We are located about an hour north of Atlanta, in case that
influences any responses.

I appreciate any suggestions. You may respond to me off list at
dcapponi at chestateelibrary.org. Thank you.
