Columbus Metropolitan Library Greatly Expands Genealogy Collection!
The Columbus Metropolitan Library will be receiving the genealogy
collection from the State Library of Ohio. CML will add over 25,000
volumes and nearly 6000 microforms to an already existing genealogy
collection. This collection emphasizes the importance of Ohio as the
“Gateway to the West” and contains many genealogical resources
from the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern Border states and some
materials from the Deep Southern States and the Midwestern States of
Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. Resources include
census, county records, cemetery books, military rosters, how-to books
and family histories. Some special collections include the following:
Ohio Daughters of the American Revolution, Ohio Sons of the American
Revolution, Joy Wade Moulton British Collection, Ohio Huguenot Society
Bookcase, and Margaret Main Bouic Collection. The collection will be
unavailable April 23-24. It will be available to the public at the Main
Library's Genealogy, History & Travel division on Wednesday April 25,
2007. For information about our library go to our homepage at
