[Genealib] "Moving Day"

March 1st used to be moving day in my part of rural Iowa-it was when all the
hired hands who were moving went to their new positions (I'm guessing so
they would be ready for spring planting).

Some friends who maintain the Washington Co. NY genweb site told me that
April 1st was "moving day" in Greenwich, NY.  This was the day everyone in
town who wanted to move did so.  Has anyone heard of this in other towns or
counties.  Just curious.  Might it have had anything to do with publishing
directories?
