That's true, Honey. I lived in Montreal for a couple of years and my Mom
lived there in the 60s. You cannot book a moving van/truck in the city
for July 1 unless you book WAAAYYYY in advance. Since July 1 is Canada
Day, and a national holiday, at least people are usually sure they have
the day off!

When I was visiting in Montreal a few years ago, I was told that July 1
was moving day for them.

Some friends who maintain the Washington Co. NY genweb site told me that
April 1st was "moving day" in Greenwich, NY. This was the day everyone in
town who wanted to move did so. Has anyone heard of this in other towns
or counties. Just curious. Might it have had anything to do with
publishing directories?
