We were offered the microfiche reader described below, but don't need
it. I have the owner's permission to offer it to you all, first come
first served. Ms. Guerin requests only that the taker pay for the
shipping and provide her with a donor receipt for tax purposes. Please
contact her directly, not me or the WV Archives.

Subject: Micron 375 Microfiche reader.
Importance: Low

Dear Susan:

Right after talking to you, I looked in the box and found the
instructions--what luck! Its dated 1996, and I worked in Huntington
1997-1999, so it wasn't worked too hard. I don't know if it is a single
or double lens Reader, but it is a Micron 375, made by Eyecom for
MicroImage Display. It is 11" wide by 11" high and about 11" deep. It
has something called "blowback viewing at 100% source, whatever that is.
Bulbs are available at http://www.censusmicrofilm.com/bulbs.htm. This
bulb works fine.

It weighs in at about 11 pounds and is supposed to be sturdier than the
Eyecom Reader; never having seen one of those, I couldn't say.

According to the Internet, it retails for anywhere from $150 to
$400--although you can e-bay it for $50 from government surplus. You
pay only shipping and a donation ticket so I can get a deduction for it.

First to say "I want it!" gets it. Please contact me at
gmguerin at hotmail.com or at 304 610 0274
