[Genealib] Reprinted books without indexes

When I rule the world, no one will be allowed to publish non-fiction
without an index! And some fiction may also be required to have an
index. (A Harry Potter series master index, for one thing)
Meanwhile, that is one of the best parts of digitizing county histories
and biographical volumes . . . assuming your OCR is good, you have an
every-name, every topic, index.
I am looking forward to reading the responses of the publishers who read
this list.

Subject: [Genealib] Reprinted books without indexes
Why do publishers reprint some books without adding indexes? Also, why
do genealogical publishers print new works without indexes? I would be
happy to pay more to make the information in these books easily
accessible.
